Life saving techniques were demonstrated to the members of the Skegness & District Seniors Forum at the village hall Chapel St Leonards at their open meeting by first responders John Simons and Diane Jinks, who are volunteers of LIVES, the Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service. There are 70 groups in Lincolnshire in the organisation and they deal with cardiac arrests, collapses and chest pains and in the past three years the Chapel St Leonards responders have dealt with 400 call outs, an amazing achievement by the volunteers who number now only 12 after an initial 20 three years ago.

Betty Morton continued the first aid theme explaining the services of the Red Cross and Practice Manager of the Beacon Medical Centre, Ann Stray, outlined the procedures and services of the Skegness, Chapel St Leonards and Ingoldmells medical practices.
