The Skegness & District Forum held their open meeting at Wainfleet Coronation Hall on Monday 9th February on "Transport" with representatives from InterConnect, Coast & Country Bus Club, Dial-a-ride, & Train services and Road Car, as well as stands for The Pensions Services, Learn Direct and Crime prevention

Anita Ruffle from InterConnect gave an excellent slide presentation outlining their development strategy both for Rural and Inter Urban networks, taking into account the needs of the elderly and disabled, with low floor buses and raised kerbs.

Their drivers go through a thorough training in Customer Care and even have to have a knowledgeof Makaton - signing language.

Cllr Jim Dodsworth praised InterConnect and gave his thanks to East Lindsey District Council for their involvement with the Burgh le Marsh Transport Directory.

Large font literature was highlighted as a much needed service in all areas. Many points were raised and answered and the meeting proved informative both for
the members and for the transport services.
