| The East Lindsey Income Maximisation Project |
The
Skegness & District Seniors Forum attended the launch of The East Lindsey
Income Maximisation Project at Coronation Hall Wainfleet. Kerri Watkins,
Welfare Benefits Caseworker and Julie Pimperton,Admin Support Worker, are working with Age Concern, Help The Aged, Community Legal Services and Lincolnshire County Council Social Services on this two year project which aims to reach the 9% of the community who are entitled to claim benefits but have not claimed or are not aware that they are eligible to claim these entitlements.
Malcolm Baxter, Chief Officer of Age Concern, conducted the meeting. Kath Riding, Chairman of the Skegness & District Seniors Forum gave her views and examples of entitlements that are available. Dave Stacey, Service Planning Officer Lincolnshire County Council Social Serevice gave a general outline of how the scheme fitted in demographically, Brenda Ruysen , Rural Engagement Officer for Help The Aged added her comments and endorsed the forum’s support. Kerri Watkins explained that home visits for personal evaluation and help with filling in forms, would becarried out as well as visiting groups and clubs.
The meeting concluded with questions from the audience and a buffet lunch. |
